Ingredients

  • 300g Nadura* Meat or Chicken Free burgers, thawed and cut into chunks or slices
  • 150g Red or Yellow Onion, thinly sliced
  • 15g Garlic Clove, minced
  • 200g Coconut Milk 
  • 15g Coconut Oil
  • 20g Cane Vinegar
  • 15g Dark Soy Sauce 
  • 15g Light Soy Sauce
  • 10g Coconut Sugar or Cane Sugar
  • 1g Ground Black Pepper 
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 2 Dried Red Chili  
  • 5–10g Fresh Coriander, chopped
  • 250 ml Water

preparation

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the coconut oil. Add the sliced onion and garlic, and sauté for 4–5 minutes until soft but not browned.
  2. Pour in the coconut milk, then stir in the cane vinegar, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, sugar, black pepper, bay leaf, dried chilies, and water.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 7–8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. While the sauce simmers, heat a skillet over medium heat with some oil. Slice or break apart the Nadura* burgers into strips or cubes, and sear for 4 minutes until golden.
  5. Add the Nadura* protein to the adobo sauce.
  6. Simmer everything together for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
  7. Serve over steamed rice and garnish with chopped coriander.
